Malayala Manjorama
The color Yellow or Manja is associated with the over-dramatizing of events in journalism that downplays legitimate news in favor of eye-catching headlines that sells more.
But then...
Isnt this what is happening all around us?
This is a satire...
No hard feelings whatsoever.
About the logo
The logo is a caricature of a popular newspaper in Malayalam the name of which is synonymous to the word newspaper in the Malayali psyche.
The logo represents sex, money and power, the three pillars on which the modern culture rests. Desirable lifestyle in the mainstream of affluent societies consists of the three elements - intimacy, choice and movement. But they are also responsible for undermining traditional forms of power and control. They create complex relationships between individuals which are more flexible than any that has existed in the past. The birth of the social sciences constituted a formula for human institutions which held the attraction for the vision of freedom, equality and harmony. Sex, money and power brings together these changing accounts of the collective world.
